1.19 Update Arrived

This is a little late in posting but there was a ton of exploring to do. With the Survival Kingdoms SMP updated to 1.19 we could all set out to explore the new world and see what we could find for bases. The seed turned out to be a great one, with several different biomes close to spawn. If you missed it check out the beginning here – Survival Kingdoms SMP Beginning.

Exploration

Here’s a slide show of some of the areas found while exploring, we have the normal plains, savanna, and jungle all close to the base with badlands and a mangrove swamp still nearby.

New Base Location

Here is the location for the new base. I found this after I had decided on another spot close to a village and mountain to the north but I liked this spot better. Took a little bit to get everything moved but I have a camp and chests set up to start building.

The Base Plan

So with the river coming up to this valley beside the mountain I decided to do a castle next to the mountain with a wall extending across the valley and a dock area down by the river. This gives me a central spot where I can build farms inside the mountain along with several outdoor areas that will all be within the simulation distance when I am at the base. Using bright wool to layout the rough area for a build is helpful to visualize where it will go and how it fits the surroundings.

Up next will be the castle build, here’s the block pallette I’ve tested out. Good thing I brought back some of the mangrove already.
